NAMIB / SOSSUSVLEI

Sossusvlei.

Sossusvlei and Deadvlei give a face to the Namib. But the desert is much more than a photograph among the dark trees.

Deadvlei and Sesriem

Worth knowing.

Sesriem is the gateway in Sossusvlei. Deadvlei, the dunes and the canyon are stages to organize, not a single point on the map.

How to live it.

Choose the base according to park access and opening hours. Photography, dunes and accompanying experiences ask for different times: it also leaves room for the stops.

01 / LEARNING ABOUT THE JOURNEYNOT JUST THINGS TO SEE

On the field.

Here the light is an appointment. Not a filter. Leaving margin in the day changes the way you experience the place.

01 / ON THE FIELD

Sesriem is access, not Deadvlei

NWR places Sesriem Campsite on the doorstep of Sossusvlei. A night close to the entrance and one in a more distant reserve have different logistics: in the proposal we define the base before the experience.

02 / ON THE FIELD

Fog matters as much as rain

In the Namib Sand Sea, fog is a fundamental water resource for life. It does not mean that every dune receives the same moisture, nor that the desert is biologically empty.

Dunes, stars, rest: choose your pace

A photographic climb, an accompanied experience and a stop in the lodge do not require the same program. We define what interests you and verify access, operators and conditions before including it in the trip.
